Staying Connected

We know it’s important for you to have direct access to your finances. The RBC Mobile App and Online Banking are secure, easy and available 24/7. You can:

In order to see your RBC Bank (U.S.) accounts in Online Banking, first make sure you’ve set it up and linked with your RBC Online Banking in Canada.

If you’ve already set up your account and need to retrieve your username or password, choose “Forgot Login Info?” and you’ll be directed to your personal security questions.

U.S. Financial Transactions

While wires from your Canadian account may require a trip to the branch, you can initiate an RBC Bank U.S. wire over the phone. First, sign and submit via email a one-time Wire Transfer Agreement along with copies of two forms of ID (acceptable forms of ID are outlined on page 1 and 2 of the Wire Transfer Agreement). Once we’ve received your signed agreement, you can send a wire transfer by calling us at 1-800-769-2553.

You can transfer money between your U.S. and Canadian RBC Bank accounts through Online Banking or the Mobile App.

  • Transfer up to $25,000 per transaction

Normally this can be done through Online Banking – but at this time, you can call the Advice Centre and a Cross-border Banking Advisor can assist you – 1-800-769-2553.

These requests will be expedited and should arrive by the 3rd day after your request.

If you’re depositing a check drawn on a U.S. account, you can use your mobile device or desktop computer and scanner and deposit it remotely. Learn more about this fast and easy process.

The easiest way to make your deposit is through a transfer from your RBC Bank account in Canada, although you have other options as well.

If your account has been closed because we haven’t received your first deposit, please call us at 1-800-769-2553 and we’ll assist you with reopening it.

As a cross-border client, you have access to over 50,000 ATMs nationwide. Find the U.S. ATM nearest you.

You can call our real estate lending line at 1-866-283-5928 to speak with a Cross-Border Mortgage Advisor.

If you are in the process of closing on a U.S. property, your Cross-Border Mortgage Advisor is available to assist you with any questions or concerns you may have – particularly in light of the recent border closing between the U.S. and Canada. Our team will work with you to determine any adjustments that may be needed, including changing your closing date or location. Together, we can find the option that works best for you.

Travel

To help you manage questions regarding travel, our Rewards points partner has created a website sharing details of airlines and their covid-19 policies.

Yes! RBC Rewards gift card fulfillments are continuing to ship within 3-5 business days. Sign in to Online Banking to view your points and redemption options.

You can call our Rewards Redemption Center at 1-877-521-2035, however please note that while the safety of our clients is our top priority and we are taking every measure to support you as quickly as possible, due to extremely high call volumes at our RBC Rewards Call Centre, clients are experiencing long wait times. During this time, we ask that if you are not traveling within the next 72 hours, please consider calling at a later time.

If you’re outside the country and are directly impacted by COVID-19, you can apply for an emergency repayable loan from the Canadian government to facilitate your return to Canada and to cover basic essential needs while you work toward your return. Financial Relief Program

Because we don’t offer business lending products, we don’t have a business relief program. However, a registered U.S. business may be eligible for U.S. government programs designed to support them through these times. The Small Business Administration has compiled information and resources for these programs.

The SBA doesn’t provide loans, directly but works closely with lenders who extend credit to businesses.

Contact your Royal Bank business account manager to review any programs your business may qualify for in the U.S. and Canada.

RBC Bank has put in place flexible financial relief programs for our clients who have experienced financial hardship. Qualifying products include mortgages, HELOCs, personal lines of credit and credit cards. Relief will be offered on a case-by-case basis. Some restrictions apply. Call 1-800-769-2553 to discuss your situation with an advisor.

While interest will continue to accrue while your payments are deferred, credit card clients will be credited monthly for 50% of any credit card interest for the period. Mortgage clients will be credited for any compound interest for the period at the end of the relief period.

There is no fee and no penalty associated with the financial relief program.

Your mortgage will be adjusted to amortize all deferred payments for the life of the loan at the end of the deferred payment period. You will have a new payment amount beginning the 7th month.

A new payment amount will be established starting after the deferment period. You will be notified by us with your payment amounts.

Auto payments will stop during the relief program. You will be notified with instructions to re-establish those auto payments shortly before your deferment period ends.

If you’re experiencing financial hardship as a result of COVID-19, we want to help. We’ve created special payment programs to help anyone who may have difficulty making payments on time.

If your loan is current and you think you may not be able to make your payments, please contact us at 1-800-769-2553. Our advisors are available to answer your questions and review the assistance available to you.

You may qualify to defer your monthly mortgage payment for up to 6 months. Your mortgage will be adjusted to amortize all deferred payments over the remaining life of the loan at the end of the deferred payment period. As a result you will have a new payment amount beginning the 7th month.
You may qualify to defer payments up to 6 months for repayment HELOCs (principal and interest). Interest-only HELOCs are not eligible.
You may qualify for up to 6 deferred monthly payments. Interest will continue to accrue during this time.
You may be eligible to have your minimum monthly payments set to $0 for an initial 3 months and up to a maximum of 6 months with no impact on your credit rating. While interest will continue to accrue during this time, your account will be credited monthly for 50% of the interest accrued for the period.
